How it works

What the scan measures
Every scan scores the same nine cosmetic metrics, so changes between scans are comparable. Each metric is also broken down per facial zone — because a dry cheek and an oily T-zone need different answers.
New — face structure
The same 5-second scan now reads your facial geometry: symmetry, proportion harmony, face shape, and the character of six features — jawline, cheekbones, eyes, lips, brows, and chin. Every reading is written as a description, never a hot-or-not score: structure is what makes a face yours, not something to fix.
It pairs with Glow Potential — an honest estimate of how far your skin score can realistically move with a consistent routine. Bone structure isn't in that math, slow-changing dimensions count less, and perfection is never promised. Geometry is read from the same photo as the skin scan; no facial recognition, no biometric identification, nothing extra stored.
The skin report
Most skin scanner apps stop at a number. Aureli's report reads like a knowledgeable friend: it names each visible issue, says where it is and how pronounced, and explains what the AI actually saw — zone by zone.
The fix plan
The fix plan is built from your report in phases — calm and protect first, treat next. Each step has clear instructions and a product slot. Fill it from your own bathroom shelf or scan something new at the store; every candidate is match-scored against your skin profile and the rest of the plan.
Ingredient scanner
The AI product scanner reads the ingredient list straight off the label with OCR, identifies the product, and cross-checks it against your skin profile, your sensitivities, and everything else on your shelf. The answer is one word: safe, caution, or avoid — with the reasons underneath.
Check-ins & progress
At the end of each plan phase, a check-in scan compares your metrics against the baseline and gives an honest verdict: improved, flat, or worse. The plan adapts to what actually changed. Every scan is saved to a progress timeline, and an AI skin chat — conditioned on your reports and history — answers questions along the way.
How the AI works
Aureli combines on-device face detection with vision AI models that assess cosmetic, surface-level skin attributes from your scan photo. Here is what that means in practice.
On-device face detection locates your face and maps six zones. Vision models then score each of the nine metrics per zone and write the report. Product labels are read with OCR and matched by AI against a structured ingredient-interaction ruleset.
Scores are cosmetic estimates from a photo, not clinical measurements. Aureli is designed for consistency between scans — same guidance, same framing, same lighting cues — so the change from scan to scan is the signal, not any single number.
Aureli observes visible, cosmetic-level concerns. It does not diagnose skin disease, and its guidance complements — never replaces — a dermatologist. Fix plans adjust ingredient choices for sensitive skin, eczema, rosacea, pregnancy, and other conditions you share, purely as a safety filter.
Scan photos are processed by AI providers only for the duration of the analysis and are not retained. No facial recognition, no biometric identification, no ad-tech resale. Biometric consent, data export, and account deletion are built in. GDPR-ready from day one.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple and can be canceled anytime in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Canceling keeps Pro active until the period expires.
