What is Aureli AI?

Aureli AI is an AI skin analysis and skincare ingredient scanner app for iPhone. It photographs your face, detects and scores nine cosmetic skin metrics across six facial zones, names the visible skin issues it finds — acne, redness, dark spots, texture, and more — and turns that report into a phased fix plan where every step has a product matched to your skin. Check-in scans then compare results against your baseline and give an honest verdict: improved, flat, or worse.

How it works

From scan to fix plan in three steps

  1. Scan your face

A guided 5-second selfie scan. AI face detection maps six zones and scores nine cosmetic metrics — no quiz, no manual input. Scans are makeup-aware, so coverage is factored in rather than mistaken for skin.

  2. Read your skin report

The report names what the scan sees — acne, redness, dark spots, uneven texture — with severity and location, in plain language. No vague scores without explanation, and no invented problems.

  3. Follow your fix plan

Aureli builds a phased plan: calm and protect first, treat next. Every step has a product slot you fill from your own shelf or by scanning something new — each candidate match-scored against your skin.

What the scan measures

Nine skin metrics, zone by zone

Every scan scores the same nine cosmetic metrics, so changes between scans are comparable. Each metric is also broken down per facial zone — because a dry cheek and an oily T-zone need different answers.

  • HydrationSurface moisture and dryness signs
  • TextureSmoothness, bumps, clogged-pore roughness
  • ClarityEvenness of tone and blemish load
  • PoresVisible pore size and density
  • RednessIrritation and flushing patterns
  • OilinessShine and sebum distribution
  • Dark spotsPigmentation and post-blemish marks
  • Fine linesEarly wrinkle and dehydration lines
  • Skin ageEstimated skin appearance age

New — face structure

Your face structure, described — not graded

The same 5-second scan now reads your facial geometry: symmetry, proportion harmony, face shape, and the character of six features — jawline, cheekbones, eyes, lips, brows, and chin. Every reading is written as a description, never a hot-or-not score: structure is what makes a face yours, not something to fix.

  • SymmetryHow closely your left and right sides mirror
  • HarmonyHow well your features fit together
  • BalanceHow evenly your face divides into thirds
  • Face shapeThe outline your features draw — oval, heart, square…
  • Eye characterSpacing, shape, and tilt of your eyes
  • Six featuresJawline, cheekbones, eyes, lips, brows, chin — each with a one-line reading

It pairs with Glow Potential — an honest estimate of how far your skin score can realistically move with a consistent routine. Bone structure isn't in that math, slow-changing dimensions count less, and perfection is never promised. Geometry is read from the same photo as the skin scan; no facial recognition, no biometric identification, nothing extra stored.

The skin report

A report that names the problem

Most skin scanner apps stop at a number. Aureli's report reads like a knowledgeable friend: it names each visible issue, says where it is and how pronounced, and explains what the AI actually saw — zone by zone.

  • Named skin issues with severity and facial location
  • Zone narration: what's happening on your forehead vs. your chin
  • Honest verdicts — if something looks fine, the report says so

The fix plan

A step-by-step plan, not a shopping list

The fix plan is built from your report in phases — calm and protect first, treat next. Each step has clear instructions and a product slot. Fill it from your own bathroom shelf or scan something new at the store; every candidate is match-scored against your skin profile and the rest of the plan.

  • Phased routine: AM and PM steps in the right order
  • Product slots filled from your shelf or by scanning in-store
  • Match scores that account for every other product you use

Ingredient scanner

Point it at any product. Get a verdict.

The AI product scanner reads the ingredient list straight off the label with OCR, identifies the product, and cross-checks it against your skin profile, your sensitivities, and everything else on your shelf. The answer is one word: safe, caution, or avoid — with the reasons underneath.

  • Ingredient conflict engine: retinoid, acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide interactions with correct AM/PM placement
  • Reaction tracing: flag a product that broke you out and the AI finds the likely culprit ingredient
  • Automatic flagging of that ingredient in every future product you scan

Check-ins & progress

Proof, not promises

At the end of each plan phase, a check-in scan compares your metrics against the baseline and gives an honest verdict: improved, flat, or worse. The plan adapts to what actually changed. Every scan is saved to a progress timeline, and an AI skin chat — conditioned on your reports and history — answers questions along the way.

  • Plans that adapt when something isn't working
  • AI skin chat that knows your skin profile and product shelf

How the AI works

Honest about the method — and its limits

Aureli combines on-device face detection with vision AI models that assess cosmetic, surface-level skin attributes from your scan photo. Here is what that means in practice.

Vision AI, zone-mapped

On-device face detection locates your face and maps six zones. Vision models then score each of the nine metrics per zone and write the report. Product labels are read with OCR and matched by AI against a structured ingredient-interaction ruleset.

Built for consistency

Scores are cosmetic estimates from a photo, not clinical measurements. Aureli is designed for consistency between scans — same guidance, same framing, same lighting cues — so the change from scan to scan is the signal, not any single number.

Not a diagnosis

Aureli observes visible, cosmetic-level concerns. It does not diagnose skin disease, and its guidance complements — never replaces — a dermatologist. Fix plans adjust ingredient choices for sensitive skin, eczema, rosacea, pregnancy, and other conditions you share, purely as a safety filter.

Privacy by default

Scan photos are processed by AI providers only for the duration of the analysis and are not retained. No facial recognition, no biometric identification, no ad-tech resale. Biometric consent, data export, and account deletion are built in. GDPR-ready from day one.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does Aureli AI analyze my skin?

Aureli AI uses AI-powered face detection to scan your skin in about 5 seconds. It maps six facial zones — forehead, T-zone, cheeks, chin, jawline, and under-eye — then scores 9 cosmetic metrics: hydration, texture, clarity, pores, redness, oiliness, dark spots, fine lines, and skin appearance age.

Is Aureli AI free to use?

Aureli AI is free to download on the App Store and includes a free skin scan. Full reports, the personalized fix plan, the ingredient scanner, and ongoing check-in scans require Aureli Pro, available as a weekly or annual subscription. Prices are shown in the App Store before you subscribe and vary by country.

How accurate is the AI skin analysis?

Aureli AI estimates cosmetic, surface-level skin attributes from a photo — it is designed for consistency between scans rather than clinical measurement. Scores are most reliable when you scan bare-faced in even lighting, and the app guides you to reproduce the same conditions at every check-in so scan-to-scan changes are meaningful. It does not diagnose skin diseases.

Which skin concerns can Aureli AI detect?

The scan report names visible, cosmetic-level concerns such as acne breakouts, redness, dark spots and post-blemish marks, uneven texture, visible pores, oiliness, dryness, and fine lines — each with severity and facial location, written in plain language.

Can Aureli AI analyze my face shape and symmetry?

Yes. Alongside the skin analysis, the scan reads your facial geometry: a symmetry score, proportion harmony, balance of facial thirds, your face shape, eye spacing, shape, and tilt, plus one-line readings of six features — jawline, cheekbones, eyes, lips, brows, and chin. Structure is described, not graded — there is no attractiveness score. The reading comes from the same scan photo; no facial recognition or biometric identification is performed.

Is Aureli AI a medical device?

No. Aureli AI is a cosmetic wellness tool. It provides visual skin observations and routine guidance — it is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not replace professional dermatological care. See a licensed dermatologist for persistent or worsening skin problems.

Is my face data safe with Aureli AI?

Yes. Aureli AI is built privacy-first with biometric consent and AI transparency disclosures. Scan photos are processed by AI providers only for the duration of the analysis and are not retained; no facial recognition or biometric identification is performed. Full data export and in-app account deletion are available, and the app is GDPR-ready.

How does the product ingredient scanner work?

Point your iPhone camera at a product label or bottle. OCR reads the ingredient list, AI identifies the product, and it is cross-checked against your skin profile, sensitivities, and every other product on your shelf for conflicts — such as retinoid, exfoliating acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide interactions. You get a clear safe, caution, or avoid verdict tailored to you.

Does the skin scan work with makeup on?

Aureli's scans are makeup-aware: the AI detects likely makeup coverage and factors it into the report rather than mistaking it for skin. For the most reliable scores, scan bare-faced — especially the baseline and check-in scans your fix plan is measured against.

Is Aureli AI available on Android?

Not yet. Aureli AI is currently an iPhone app, available on the App Store for iOS. An Android version is planned; availability will be announced on getaureli.app and the App Store listing.

How do I cancel my Aureli Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple and can be canceled anytime in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Canceling keeps Pro active until the period expires.

Who builds Aureli

A small team with an honest-mirror rule

Aureli is built by a small independent product team in Northern Europe. The rule we build by: the app must be honest about facts and warm in how it says them — if your skin looks fine, the report says so; if a product isn't working, the check-in says that too, and always with a next step.
